StayDesk is an all-in-one web app for running a PG or hostel — beds, rent, expenses, food, complaints, staff, and resident safety — from a single dashboard. PRODM designed and built it, first for Royal Nestoria, and it is now being productised for owners across India.
The problem
Most PG and hostel owners still run everything on WhatsApp groups, paper registers, and Excel. Rent is chased by phone, profit is a guess, empty beds go unnoticed, complaints get lost, and the safety routines parents care about are handled on paper. StayDesk replaces all of that with one screen.
What we built
- Beds & occupancy — a visual bed map with individual and bunk beds, allot and vacate, and add rooms anytime
- Residents & KYC — onboarding with in-app document upload and verify/reject
- Rent & payments — auto-generated monthly invoices, a dues dashboard, full and partial payments, and receipts
- Expenses & profit — categorised bills and a live P&L of collected minus expenses
- Food & mess — a weekly menu grid with next-day meal pre-orders, headcount, and a day-before cut-off
- Complaints — raise, assign, and track to resolution
- Safety register — digital in and out with late-flagging against curfew, a visitor log, and SOS alerts
- Staff — roster and payroll
- Owner dashboard — collection, expenses, profit, dues, occupancy, tomorrow's meals, and alert banners
Safety built in, by property type
On first setup the owner picks Girls, Boys, or Co-living. That choice automatically turns on the right safe defaults — for a girls' PG that means in-time and curfew enforcement, visitor approval, an SOS panic button, parent alerts, and mandatory guardian KYC — all toggleable later. A girls' PG is never shipped with safety off.
